Frequently asked questions

Is the lining material of a trading card binder really important? Could it damage my cards?

Absolutely! Avoid PVC and acidic materials that damage cards. Use only acid-free, archival-quality products designed for card storage. Safe materials include inert plastics like PP (polypropylene) and PE (polyethylene), or felt.

Why do my cards bend in the card binder? Is it because of the card binder?

Card bending is caused by humidity changes, not the card binder itself. However, a quality zippered card binder creates a stable micro-environment that better isolates cards from humidity. Storing it upright and full also helps reduce warping.

How do I clean my card collector binder?

Clean exterior with a damp cloth; avoid chemicals and water. For interior, use a soft brush or blower to remove dust. Clean inner pages/sleeves with lens wipes and allow to dry completely before reinserting cards.

The inner pages of my card binder have scratches. Do I need to replace them?

Yes, replace scratched or clouded inner pages. They can rub against and damage card surfaces. These pages are consumable; regularly inspecting and replacing worn ones is a necessary investment to protect your collection.

What should I do if the zipper on my card binder gets stuck?

Never force a stuck zipper. First, check for and gently dislodge any caught fabric or card corners. Pull the zipper slowly; a small amount of wax can lubricate it. If the zipper is damaged, replace the card binder to prevent it from bursting open.
